Montgomery’s Inn is home to the talented and innovative Humber River Shakespeare Company and hosts performances of Shakespearean repertoire, adapted classics, and commissioned plays.

The Sonnet Show

SPRING – Sample experimental theatre and see specially commissioned one-act plays inspired by Shakespeare’s sonnets.

JULY & AUGUST – Bring a lawn chair to enjoy Shakespearean theatre performed in the open air beside Montgomery’s Inn.

Creative Memory Journal

Wednesdays until – May 30, 2:00 – 4:00 pm
Location: Islington Seniors Centre
4968 Dundas Street West Etobicoke
Artist/Facilitator Catherine Campbell will introduce participants to drawing, water colour, collage, printmaking and mixed media to create a beautiful art journal. Each person will create their own memory art journal and can display their work at a community event. The project will explore local history and stories from the Dundas/Islington neighbourhoods. Catherine will use storytelling, writing and art making to draw out the stories and memories for the art journals. This project is in partnership with Montgomery’s Inn. 8 weeks, all supplies included, $15 registration payable to the Islington Seniors Centre. For more information call 416-829-2665.

Mother’s Day Tea and Tour

Sunday, May 13, 1 – 4 p.m.
Bring Mom to the Inn to celebrate Mother’s Day with an afternoon Fancy Tea. Cream Scones with crème fraîche and gooseberry jam, lemon tarts and more! Price includes a guided tour of the museum. All ages are welcome. First come, first served. $10 plus HST.

InnTo the Garden: Introduction to Vegetable Growing

This talk, second in the series with the Etobicoke Master Gardeners, will be given by Marsha Gettas and is part of our annual Victoria Day celebrations.

Montgomery’s Inn Farmers’ Market

Every Wednesday, from May 23, through November 28, 3 – 7 p.m.
Buy direct from local farmers and food artisans. Organic fruit and vegetables, cheese, bread and prepared foods, ethically raised meat, honey and more! Take in some live entertainment, as well—you can also have tea in the tea room, enjoy a smoothie or take a tour of the Inn!

Celebrate this architectural urban adventure with free admission to the museum. Hourly trolley tours of the Islington Village Murals courtesy of the Islington Village BIA. Admission is FREE.

Friday June 1, 1 – 5 p.m.
Kids will play tavern games in a restored 19th century tavern. Belly-up to the bar for a free glass of hot cider. Pay what you can.

Bake Oven Launch
INNovators Annual General Meeting

Saturday, June 2, 2 – 6 p.m.
You don’t need to be an INNovator to be part of this celebration, but it helps! Bring your bread recipes or memories of memorable bread to this slightly-after-the-first-year anniversary of the building of the bake oven. There’s also a short annual general meeting of the INNovators, where this Friends of the Museum organization will tell you what they’ve been up to and ask for your help in choosing a new board. Come and find out more!
