The Tethered Heart

Meet at the Inn’s Bake Oven for the launch of a neighbourhood parade and feast moving through the heart of Etobicoke. Stories of migration and memories of home move across borders and boundaries, through the air and across time, traveling through the streets of Etobicoke to touch down on Mabelle Avenue. Warm your belly, warm your heart, spark your imagination, or a new friendship. Meet your neighbours and become a part of the story.

Family Day at Montgomery’s Inn
Monday, February 20, 1pm to 4pm

Bring the family to Montgomery’s Inn for an Irish Ceilidh! Maureen O’Leary of Maureen’s Reel Irish Dancing will teach a dance workshop at 2pm and then host a ceilidh at 4pm. Join the cooks in the historic kitchen while they prepare tasty treats over the fire and listen in while our resident story-teller Nan Brien shares delightful stories featuring puppetry at 1:30 and 3pm Drop-in activities, no pre-registration required.

Finding Freedom: The Joshua Glover Story
Friday February 24, 7pm to 9pm

The true story of Joshua Glover is presented through the medium of a dramatic first person narrative. Mr. Glover was an enslaved person who escaped from a southern American plantation arriving in Etobicoke through the underground railway where he found work at Montgomery’s Inn. $20 plus HST; includes snacks, refreshments and a tour of the Inn. Pre-registration required.
